The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will join the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, to co-chair meetings of the Canadian Council of Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministers (CCFAM) on Tuesday, December 4, and Wednesday, December 5, at the Delta Hotel, St. John’s. Minister Byrne and fellow ministers will meet with media at the close of the two-day event, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, also at the Delta. Topics to be discussed during the meetings include marine conservation, aquatic invasive species and inland fisheries.

CCFAM was formed in September 1999 to enhance collaboration between the federal, provincial and territorial governments on issues related to fisheries and aquaculture.
