The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, and Gudie Hutchings, Member of Parliament for Long Range Mountains, will announce investments focused on growing the agriculture industry and supporting entrepreneurs in this industry through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership tomorrow, (Friday, October 12). Minister Byrne will also announce projects approved under the Provincial Agrifoods Assistance Program.

The announcements will take place at the Corner Brook Civic Centre, Canada Games Place, at 12:30 p.m. Following the announcement Minister Byrne will join school-aged children who will be touring the Agriculture Expo.

Later in the day, Minister Byrne will take part in the official opening of the Agriculture Expo at 6:45 p.m., also at the Corner Brook Civic Centre. The expo is one of the largest events of its kind in Newfoundland and Labrador and features a farmers’ market, animal petting farm and food demonstrations.
