The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will attend a tree dedication ceremony tomorrow (Wednesday, September 26) at 10:00 a.m. during Explore Forestry Day activities at Margaret Bowater Park in Corner Brook.

Minister Byrne will be joined by Colin Carroll, the department’s director of regional services division and newly appointed National President of the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF). They will be available to the media to discuss forestry initiatives in Newfoundland and Labrador and the role of the CIF.

Approximately 300 elementary school students and teachers from the Humber Valley-Bay of Islands area are expected to participate in Explore Forestry Day activities.
