Special Ballot applications are now being accepted for the upcoming Topsail – Paradise by-election. According to the Elections Act, 1991, Special Ballot applications may be accepted up to four weeks prior to the issuance of the writ of election.

Applications can be obtained online at www.elections.gov.nl.ca; by calling Elections Newfoundland and Labrador’s Special Ballot division at 729-0789; or by emailing specialballot@gov.nl.ca.

Approved applicants will receive their Special Ballot voting kits after the official close of nominations, eight days after the by-election call.

Special Ballot voting is an option for those electors who feel that they are unable to vote in person at the advance or regular polls. For more information about Special Ballot voting, or for any other inquiries, call 1-877-729-7987 or visit www.elections.gov.nl.ca.
