Corrected Voter Information Cards in the Mail for the Windsor Lake By-Election

  • Office of the Chief Electoral Officer

September 10, 2018

A corrected version of the Voter Information Card for Windsor Lake is being circulated by Elections Newfoundland and Labrador. The new cards were mailed on Friday past (September 7) and should be received by electors in the next day or so.

Previously mailed Voter Information Cards, which were yellow in colour, contained an error in the day of the week for by-election day. Instead of Tuesday, September 20, 2018, the card should have read Thursday, September 20, 2018.

The new cards are green in colour to distinguish them from the previous version and will be sent to every person who is on the voters list in the district. The Voter Information Cards provide details on:

  • Advance poll and by-election day voting locations
  • Special Ballot voting
  • Office hours and contact information and for the district Returning Office and Elections Newfoundland and Labrador

Electors who are not on the voters list can be added until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15. Those who are not on the voters list on the advance polling days or on by-election day can still vote, but will have to produce appropriate identification (that shows the elector’s name, address and signature) and complete an oath at the polls.

If you do not receive a Voter Information Card or for more information, please contact Elections Newfoundland and Labrador toll-free at 1-877-729-7987 or visit the Elections Newfoundland and Labrador website: www.elections.gov.nl.ca.
