Province Committed to Improving Education System

Today, the Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, and department officials met with members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of School Councils (NLFSC) to discuss a variety of topics, including: literacy, the Premier’s Task Force on Improving Educational Outcomes and mental health and addictions.

The NLFSC is a non-profit organization for parents, teachers, high school students and community supporters who are committed to enhancing the quality of school programming and improving the levels of student achievement. The organization provides school councils and parent groups with a voice on educational issues and encourages parental involvement at all levels of education throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
