Provincial Government Issues Call for Proposals to Celebrate Multiculturalism Week

The Provincial Government is calling for proposals for events or activities to promote inter-cultural understanding during Multiculturalism Week (March 17-23, 2019) in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Eligible applicants include cultural groups and associations, established non-profit community organizations, municipal governments, public entities such as schools, and non-governmental entities such as regional development authorities. Eligibility guidelines are available at www.gov.nl.ca/immigration/files/Newfoundland-and-Labrador-Multiculturalism-Grant-Program-2018-19-Funding-Guidelines.pdf.

For more information or for instructions on how to submit a proposal through the Labour Market Programs Support System (LaMPSS), visit www.gov.nl.ca/immigration/files/Applying-in-LaMPSS-for-NLMGP.pdf. Applications will be accepted until January 7, 2019.

Increasing the number and reach of Multiculturalism Week events is a key commitment in The Way Forward on Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This collaborative, partnership-driven immigration action plan delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
