Minister Acknowledges Great Union of Romanians

The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, acknowledges the 100th anniversary of the Great Union of Romanians on December 1.

The Great Union of Romanians is Romania’s national holiday and is marked by Romanians throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada, and around the world.

To recognize and celebrate the diversity of the province’s residents, the Provincial Government acknowledges cultural holidays and events, including through the 2018 Diversity Calendar, a key commitment in The Way Forward on Immigration in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This collaborative, partnership-driven immigration action plan delivers on commitments in The Way Forward to strengthen the province’s economic foundation and deliver better services and better outcomes for residents. The Way Forward outlines all actions the Provincial Government is taking to achieve a strong, diversified province with a high standard of living, and can be viewed at thewayforward.gov.nl.ca.
