April 30, 2018

Workers impacted by this season’s closure of the Daley Brothers Woodman Sea Projects plant in New Harbour are advised that employment and training services are readily available at Advanced Education, Skills and Labour Employment Centres throughout the province.

The department has been working with the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources to develop an approach to assist these workers.

In addition to services provided at all Employment Centres, Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, in collaboration with Service Canada, will host two information sessions in Carbonear at the Carbonear Employment Centre on May 7. The first will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the second taking place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Carbonear Employment Centre is located at 17 Industrial Crescent.

Advanced Education, Skills and Labour offers a range of services that can be tailored to assist individuals including career counselling, job search assistance, employment and training supports, and access to localized labour market information.

A list of Employment Centres across the province can be found at www.aesl.gov.nl.ca/career/employment_centres.pdf

Impacted workers can also access information by phone at 1-800-563-6600 or email AESL@gov.nl.ca.
