Public Advisory: Christmas Lights Across Canada Celebration to Take Place December 7

The Provincial Government is inviting the public to attend Newfoundland and Labrador’s 31st annual Christmas Lights Across Canada celebration. The event will take place on Thursday, December 7, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Confederation Building, East Block.

When the switch is activated, a display of approximately 60,000 LED lights will illuminate the Confederation Building Christmas tree and other trees along Prince Phillip Drive for the holiday season.

The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band and the St. Andrew’s Elementary School Choir will provide festive entertainment for all to enjoy. Hot chocolate and other refreshments will be served after the Christmas lights are switched on.

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will join six-year-old Emma King and family to activate the lights.
