Minister Hawkins Recognizes Public Works Week

The Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Transportation and Works, today recognized May 21-27 as National Public Works Week. This years theme is Public Works Connects Us.

Public Works Week is designed to educate the public about the importance of our public infrastructure and services, and recognizes the contributions of public works professionals throughout North America.

Earlier this year, the Provincial Government announced nearly $3 billion over five years to support priority infrastructure projects across the province in transportation, marine, education, health, justice, and municipal infrastructure.

Quotes
Our provinces public works professionals serve our citizens every day by designing, building, operating and maintaining transportation, water supply, wastewater systems, public buildings, and other facilities that are essential to keeping communities connected and helping our province grow and prosper. They provide critical services to all of us.
Honourable Al Hawkins
Minister of Transportation and Works
