Public Advisory: Repairs to Trans-Canada Highway near Salmonier Progressing
Motorists are reminded that the east and west bound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway from Salmonier Line to the Holyrood Access Road remain closed as work to repair damage caused by heavy rain continues. The section of the highway is anticipated to reopen Thursday, as weather conditions permit.
East bound traffic must exit at Route 90 (Salmonier Line) and follow Route 60 to Route 62 (Holyrood Access Road) while west bound traffic must exit at Route 62 (Holyrood Access Road) and follow Route 60 to Route 90 (Salmonier Line). Motorists are asked to obey signs, slow down, and always drive with caution.
The Department of Transportation and Works is monitoring Environment Canada forecasts that indicate a potential weather system affecting various areas of the province Wednesday and Thursday.
Regular updates will be provided on the reopening of the Trans-Canada Highway via @TW_GovNL and www.roads.gov.nl.ca/.
