Highway Traffic Act Charges Laid Against Busing Company and Official Inspection Station

A busing company and an Official Inspection Station mechanic have been served with a total of eight summary offence tickets for violations of the Official Inspection Station Regulations under the Highway Traffic Act. The tickets were issued after an investigation was conducted by the Highway Enforcement Branch of Service NL.

Executive Taxi Services Limited, located in St. John’s, has been charged with one count of displaying a vehicle inspection certificate that was issued without a proper inspection being carried out, contrary to Section 19.(6)(b) of the Regulations.

Randall O’Reilly, owner and operator of O’Reilly’s Service Station, an Official Inspection Station located in Tors Cove, has been charged with seven counts of causing a vehicle inspection certificate to be displayed without a proper inspection being carried out, contrary to Section 19.(6)(b) of the Regulations.

The default conviction date for the offences is October 18, 2017.
