Media Advisory: Minister Gambin-Walsh to Speak to Students About New Impaired Driving Legislation

The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Service NL, will visit Waterford Valley High on Monday, September 18, to speak to students about the new impaired driving legislation that comes into effect later this month.

The minister will be joined by Patricia Hynes-Coates, National President of MADD Canada.

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Waterford Valley High, 465 Topsail Road, St. John’s. Media should proceed to the school’s main entrance.

Bill 68, An Act to Amend the Highway Traffic Act, No. 5, received unanimous approval when it was debated in the House of Assembly in March 2017. The legislation and its accompanying regulations, come into effect on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
