Auditor General Tables Update on Recommendations from January 2014 Report

Terry Paddon, Auditor General of Newfoundland and Labrador, today tabled his Update on Recommendations from the January 2014 Report to the House of Assembly. The report contains details of the implementation status of 79 recommendations made in the January 2014 Report on Reviews of Departments and Crown Agencies.

“Our reports provide recommendations to departments and Crown agencies that are designed to strengthen financial and operational accountability,” said Mr. Paddon. “This report, following up on the implementation of recommendations, is an integral part of the accountability process.”

Three years have passed since the recommendations contained in the January 2014 Report were made. This is sufficient time for departments and Crown agencies to consider and implement the recommendations.

Forty-five of the 79 recommendation have been fully implemented or otherwise resolved and a further 28 recommendations have been partially implemented. Six recommendations have not been implemented.

“I look forward to the continued implementations of recommendations contained in reports issued by the Office of the Auditor General.”

The report is available on the Office of the Auditor General website at www.ag.gov.nl.ca/ag/reports.htm.
