Public Advisory: Online Service Available to Pay for Quarry Permits

The Department of Natural Resources has launched an online service to pay for quarry related land uses including quarry permits, quarry leases, quarry materials exploration licences and miscellaneous quarry activities.

To pay online, visit www.gov.nl.ca and click the Pay Online link. Information on quarry permits, applications and relevant information can be found at www.nr.gov.nl.ca/nr/mines/quarries/.

Payment via mail continues to be available for those unable to use the online option.

The Department of Natural Resources regulates the provincial quarry industry which provides many jobs to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and supports the development of infrastructure, and energy and mining projects. From 2011 to 2015, an average of eight million tonnes of quarry material was produced and used in the province annually. Approximately 2,000 quarry permits are issued each year to more than 600 applicants in Newfoundland and Labrador.
