Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

PESG Chapel Arm Services Facility (Reg. 1924)
Proponent: Pennecon Energy Services Group (PESG)

The proponent is proposing to lease an existing building on a 0.34 hectare site at Chapel Arm to provide support services to contracted work in Long Harbour and the surrounding area. The facility will include fabrication/repair services for pipe/spool, fiber reinforced plastic, rubber lining and welding applications (carbon steel, titanium, aluminum, etc.). A styrene emissions stack will be installed to mitigate potential styrene emissions.

The undertaking was registered on September 11, 2017; the deadline for public comments is October 18, 2017; and the minister’s decision is due by October 26, 2017.

Diversion and Dewatering of Luce Lake North, Labrador West (Reg.1810)
Proponent: Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC)
