Tender for Infrastructure Upgrades Awarded for Irishtown-Summerside

A $2.3 million tender has been awarded to West Coast Excavation and Equipment Co. Ltd to undertake upgrades to the sanitary sewer outfall in Irishtown-Summerside. Upgrades in Christopher’s Cove and the surrounding area will contribute to protecting the environment and maintaining municipal infrastructure.

The total cost for the project is $3.2 million, and it is cost-shared between the Provincial Government, the Federal Government and the municipality of Irishtown-Summerside. The Provincial Government is contributing approximately $1.1 million to the project.

Funding is supported through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund, which supports improvements to water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection infrastructure.
