Applications are now being accepted for the Community Addiction Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Grants Program. Individuals, community groups and non-profit organizations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador are eligible to apply. The application deadline is December 19, 2017.

Application forms and program information is available online. Funding will be awarded to those who develop projects or programs designed to promote positive mental health. A total of $140,000 is available this year.

To be eligible, all projects or programs must align with one or more of the following areas:

  • Supporting young families;
  • Preventing substance use related risks and harms;
  • Suicide prevention, specifically with respect to stigma reduction; and
  • Supporting positive mental health and wellness.

Program funding is administered by the Provincial Government in partnership with the four regional health authorities. The health authorities have staff available to assist with the application process and to answer any questions interested applicants may have.
