Media Advisory: Minister Byrne to Meet Federal Fisheries Minister

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will meet with the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, to discuss modernizing the Federal Fisheries Act to include principles such as allocations based on adjacency and Indigenous participation in the fishery‎; the Artic Surf Clam quota; access to increasing the Redfish resource; the current status of Newfoundland and Labrador fisheries and other issues of importance to the province.

The meeting will be held Thursday, November 9, 10:00 a.m. at the Gulf Fisheries Centre, Moncton, New Brunswick.
