Media Advisory: Premier Ball Attending 41st Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers
The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will attend the 41st Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG-ECP) in Prince Edward Island, at the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre and Delta Prince Edward by Marriott, 18 Queen Street, on Monday, August 28. The conference is being hosted and co-chaired by the Honourable Wade MacLauchlan, Premier of Prince Edward Island. The other co-chair will be the Honourable Philip B. Scott, Governor of Vermont.
The Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers is an inter-regional, bi-national, trans-border organization established in 1973 in recognition of the special bond that exists between the six New England states and the five Eastern Canadian provinces. Its members are the governors and the premiers of those states and provinces. The meetings are held alternately in New England and Eastern Canada. The last meeting was held in Boston, MA, in 2016.
The 41st NEG-ECP Conference provides governors and premiers an opportunity to explore themes of common interest. The 2017 conference will add new components designed to build greater interactivity among participants and foster relationship building across jurisdictions. The program includes business-to-business meetings, an Energy Forum as well as a Forum on Food Innovation.
