Premier Ball Announces Senior Appointment
The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the appointment of Ellen Alcock as Associate Secretary to Cabinet (Communications) Acting, with responsibility for the Communications and Public Engagement Branch of Executive Council. Ms. Alcock brings more than 25 years of professional communications experience to the Provincial Government, having worked primarily in senior positions with the Government of Canada.

BACKGROUNDER
Biography
Ellen Alcock has more than 25 years of communications experience working primarily in senior positions within departments of the Government of Canada, including Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Treasury Board of Canada, and the Communications and Consultation Division of the Privy Council Office. During her career with the Government of Canada, she received the Deputy Minister's Award for Official Languages in recognition of her work to advance the Government of Canada's official languages agenda. Ms. Alcock holds Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Memorial University.
