Media Advisory: Minister Kirby to Attend Special Remembrance Day Ceremony at Octagon Pond Elementary

The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will be at Octagon Pond Elementary tomorrow (Thursday, November 9) to participate in a Remembrance Day assembly, followed by the dedication of the school’s library in honour of the late Sgt. Donald Lucas. The assembly will take place in the school gymnasium, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Octagon Pond Elementary is located at 11 Sgt. Donald Lucas Drive, Paradise.

Sgt. Donald Lucas was a member of the 2^nd Battalion, the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was killed during active duty in Afghanistan in 2007.
