Minister Kirby Congratulates Teachers, Students and Schools on a Successful First Year of Full-Day Kindergarten

In September 2016, full-day Kindergarten was implemented in schools throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

As the school year comes to a close, the Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, is extending appreciation to teachers, administrators, students, staff and families and thanking them for their dedication in making a smooth transition to full-day Kindergarten in the province.

The implementation of full-day Kindergarten is a significant milestone for the education system in our province. It is a key step in the continued development of young minds, helping build a more solid foundation for future success. To date, feedback from teachers, parents and students has been very positive.
