Applications Available Online for 2018 Athletic Excellence Fund
Applications are now being accepted online for the 2018 Athletic Excellence Fund. The fund combines all current provincial funding opportunities available to individual athletes, coaches and officials.
The Athletic Excellence Fund is designed to support the pursuit of athletic excellence in Newfoundland and Labrador by helping to offset the costs related to training and competition. It includes the Premier's Athletic Awards, Elite Athlete Assistance Program, Team Gushue Awards and Sport NL Scholarships in one application. To be eligible, applicants must be a current member in good standing with their Provincial Sport Organization.
The application process can be accessed online at www.cssd.gov.nl.ca/recreation/financial_assistance/athletic_excellence_fund.html and completed applications must be submitted to the Provincial Sport Organization on or before January 26, 2018.
The Athletic Excellence Fund is just one example of the Provincial Government’s focus on realizing a number of healthy living targets in The Way Forward to help achieve a healthier tomorrow. Initiatives include improving outcomes related to healthy eating, obesity, and physical activity.
