Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary Browne to Attend Acadian Day Celebrations

Mark Browne, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation and Francophone Affairs, will attend festivities organized by the St. John’s Francophone Association to celebrate Acadian Day. The events begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday (August 13), at the Francophone School and Community Center (Centre des Grands-Vents), 65 Ridge Road, St. John’s.

National Acadian Day is observed in Canada each year on August 15 and celebrates the origin, unique history and vibrant culture of the Acadian people of Canada. Francophone and Acadian communities in Newfoundland and Labrador are celebrating Acadian Day. The Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Federation is a member of the flagship Atlantic Acadian organization named Société Nationale de l’Acadie (National Society of Acadia).
