Governments Invest in Town of Holyrood
Ken McDonald, Member of Parliament for Avalon, and Betty Parsley, MHA for Harbour Main, today announced a total investment of $122,918 for an 18-month oceans-related project in the Town of Holyrood.
MP McDonald announced $79,437 from ACOA�s Business Development Program, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency while MHA Parsley, on behalf of the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, announced $43,481. The Town of Holyrood to carry out strategic marketing and sector development activities to position the town to benefit from continued growth within the oceans sector.
The Town of Holyrood recently completed the initial phase of the Oceans Holyrood Initiative, which built capacity to promote the region as a place to conduct oceans related business activity through the development of a strategy and the creation of key business development assets. This project will support the town in further building the oceans sector.
