Public Advisory – Road Closures Due to Flooding

The public is advised that due to flooding and heavy rains there are a number of roads that have been closed. It is advised that motorists stay off the road in regions that have experienced heavy rain, as not all hazards have been identified or marked at this point.

The eastern and Avalon regions have not experienced major road impacts. There are no road closures in these areas at this time.

For the western region, Route 480 to Burgeo, remains closed.

Road closures in various sections for the central region are:

  • Route 330 – between Musgrave Harbour and Aspen Cove
  • Route 346
  • Route 350
  • Route 352
  • Route 360
  • Route 361
  • Route 364
  • Route 370

Sections of the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Badger and just west of Gander are on alert for potential closures. The Trans-Canada Highway in Terra Nova National Park is currently closed, with Parks Canada to provide an update. Motorists are asked to avoid these areas.

Individuals are advised to not use the Newfoundland T'Railway system as an alternative route.

Updates on reopening and repairs will be provided as timelines become known.

As there is still significant water pooling along roads and highways, further road closures may be required.
