Public Advisory: Changes to Ferry Rates Effective September 1, 2016

The Department of Transportation and Works reminds the public that the new ferry rates for the intra-provincial ferry services go into effect beginning tomorrow (Thursday, September 1).

Discounted rates will continue to be available for seniors, students, children and commuters. These rates will be discounted at the same percentage that was historically in place for discount groups within each service/route.

There is no change to freight rates. These rates will continue under the current fee structure.

The new fares will be available on the department's website today (August 31, 2016) at 4:00 p.m. A complete list of all new rates for each service will be found under the rates section of each ferry service's webpage www.tw.gov.nl.ca/ferryservices/

Changes to ferry rates were announced in April as part of Budget 2016.
