Minister Joyce Announces New Firefighting Vehicles for Three Communities

The Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Minister Responsible for Fire and Emergency Services-Newfoundland and Labrador, has announced that three new firefighting vehicles have been approved for the communities of Holyrood, Isle aux Morts and Jackson’s Arm. The announcement was made today (Tuesday, August 2) at the Holyrood Municipal Building.

“The purchase of these three new firefighting vehicles will help support fire and emergency services, and ensure that first responders in these communities continue to have the tools necessary to perform their duties safely and effectively. These vehicles are the first to be announced under the 2016 Fire Vehicle Program and I look forward to making further announcements of firefighting equipment in the near future.”

“Volunteer firefighters provide an important role in my community and I am very pleased they will receive a new fire truck. It is essential that these active volunteers have reliable equipment to perform their duties.
