New Chair of Eastern Health Appointed

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has appointed Leslie O'Reilly as Chairperson of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. The appointment has been made through the merit-based appointment process established by the Independent Appointments Commission Act.

An active trustee of the Eastern Regional Health Authority Board, Mr. O'Reilly's three-year term as chairperson begins January 3, 2017.

Newfoundland and Labrador is the first Canadian province to establish a legislated merit-based appointment process. The Independent Appointments Commission and Public Service Commission are actively recruiting for a number of positions with agencies, boards and commissions. Leslie O'Reilly Appointed as Chairperson of Eastern Regional Health Authority Board of Trustees

Leslie O'Reilly
Prior to his appointment as Chairperson, Mr. O'Reilly was an active member of the Eastern Health Authority Board of Trustees. Mr. O'Reilly previously served as Executive Director and C.E.O of Marine Institute, Memorial University, Executive Director of OceanAdvance Inc., and has been an active member of the Eastern Health Authority Board and its health care foundation. Throughout his career, Mr. O'Reilly has participated in and led a variety of boards, advisory councils, and collaborative projects provincially, nationally and internationally. Mr. O'Reilly is a resident of Paradise.
