“CIBC is proud to stand with The Rooms and to join this exceptional group of donors to commemorate the First World War through the creation of this legacy project to remember the fallen.”
- Sylvain Vinet, Senior Vice President, Retail Markets, Eastern Canada for CIBC

The Rooms has organized the largest project for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the First World War in the country. For more than three years The Rooms has worked tirelessly to document; to preserve; to educate; and to remember the stories of those who have gone before us and who have helped to shape the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. On July 1 this meaningful anniversary will be marked with the dedication of the Fortis Courtyard and Amphitheatre and the opening of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Gallery by HRH The Princess Royal.

“We are less than a month away from commemorating the 100th anniversary of Beaumont-Hamel and honouring all those who served on the home front and overseas. The Rooms is delighted that CIBC has joined our very special team of donors who have helped turn our legacy project into a reality.”
- Tom Foran, Chair of The Rooms Corporation and Co-Chair of The Rooms capital campaign

CIBC’s contribution brings The Rooms one step closer to their $15 million capital fundraising goal.
