Public Advisory: Provincial Government Announces Call for Applications under Job Creation Partnerships Program

The Department of Advanced Education and Skills is now accepting applications under the Job Creation Partnerships Program for the 2016-17 fiscal year.

There are two application deadlines:

  • April 14, 2016, for projects to be carried out starting early summer, and
  • June 30, 2016, for projects to be completed in the fall.

The Job Creation Partnerships Program is funded through the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement. In 2015, 326 projects were approved for a total value of $10.2 million. Funding is provided through direct contributions to sponsors or through the extension of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits for project participants, and may include in-kind or in-case contributions from sponsors.

Approvals of projects are based on considerations such as the number of EI eligible individuals in the application area, the value of the work experience for participants and other relevant labour market information.

Interested organizations can apply online at www.aes.gov.nl.ca/lmda/jcp.html.
