Public Advisory: Christmas Lights Across Canada Celebration to Take Place December 3

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is inviting the general public to attend the 29th annual Christmas Lights Across Canada celebration. The event will take place on Thursday, December 3, beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the lobby of the Confederation Building, East Block.

At the event, approximately 60,000 LED lights will be lit on the Christmas tree in front of the Confederation Building, and along Prince Phillip Drive. Entertainment will be provided by the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band and the Beachy Cove Elementary School Choir, and refreshments will be served after the Christmas lights have been illuminated.

This year, Cecil Haire from CBC Radio's St. John's Morning Show will serve as Master of Ceremonies, and four-year-old Eva Zanbilowicz of St. John's will activate the lights.

The general public are invited to attend this fun event to help kick off the Christmas season.
