Public Advisory: Mariners Advised of Closure of Placentia Lift Bridge

To facilitate the ongoing construction of the new Placentia lift bridge, the Department of Transportation and Works advises of the closure of the current bridge to marine traffic for the period from 7:00 a.m., Monday, November 16 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11.

The closure is necessary as the positioning of construction equipment in the channel immediately adjacent to the existing bridge will obstruct and prevent navigation by all vessels, including small vessels, which would not typically require the bridge to lift.

Vehicle traffic will not be impacted.

The department thanks mariners for their cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
