Supporting Residents Through Quality Infrastructure

Ferryland District to Receive Road Upgrades

The Provincial Government has called the tender for provincial roads upgrades for the District of Ferryland.

“Road infrastructure is integral to connecting communities throughout this region of the province. It is important for visitors, as well as those who travel daily for work and pleasure, to have well-maintained roads. Through this tender we have committed to maintaining and enhancing these routes for the people of the province.”

The tender calls for:

  • Upgrading and paving of three km of Route 3 from Ruby Line to Doyle's Road;
  • Resurfacing of five km of Route 10 from Witless Bay towards Mobile;
  • Upgrading and resurfacing of three km of Route 10 in Renews;
  • Asphalt leveling of approximately three km on Route 10, near Portugal Cove South;
  • Installation of two box culverts on Beachy Cove Road at Tors Cove; and
  • Upgrading and paving of local roads in Ferryland.

This year’s work builds on extensive work of previous years and will enhance the overall road infrastructure. In addition, work related to the Extension of Robert E. Howlett highway will continue this year to further address traffic flow issues related to continued growth of the region.”

The Provincial Government remains committed to providing a safe and reliable transportation network throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Over $90 million is being invested this year for the Provincial Roads Program and the Summer Maintenance Program to improve and maintain provincial roads and bridges.

  • A tender has been called to upgrade a number of roads in the District of Ferryland.
