Building Infrastructure to Connect Communities

Tender Being Called for Road Upgrades on the Burin Peninsula

The Provincial Government has called the tender for upgrades to roads in the areas of Jean de Baie, Burin and Marystown, as well as several other locations on the Burin Peninsula.

By continuing to upgrade roads, culverts, intersections and bridges, we are making the necessary investments to ensure a strong transportation network well into the future.”

The tender includes:

  • Upgrading of intersection at Route 210 and Route 210-23 at Jean de Baie;
  • Upgrading and paving of Route 210 at Marystown;
  • Rehabilitation of Route 221-15 at Mortier Road;
  • Asphalt overlay on Route 220 and Route 221 at Burin; and
  • Replacing culverts and repairing bridge approaches at various locations on the Burin Peninsula.

The Provincial Government remains committed to providing a safe and reliable transportation network throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Over the past three years, more than $400 million has helped maintain, upgrade and enhance hundreds of kilometres of roads, as well as replace 23 bridges and repair 40 other bridges throughout the province.
