Public Advisory: Areas of Sir Richard Squires Building in Corner Brook to Re-open

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that Sir Richard Squires Building in Corner Brook will re-open tomorrow (Wednesday, March 18), with the exception of some offices which are still undergoing cleaning and repair work.

The offices which will remain closed are located on the ground floor of the building and are Motor Vehicle Registration, Vital Statistics, Adult Probation, Crown Lands, Service NL (Teleservices) and Residential Tenancies.

While the remainder of the building will be open, the elevators will not be operational. As a result, individual offices may take particular steps to provide service and the public is advised to phone ahead before visiting the building.

Sir Richard Squires Building was closed yesterday (Monday, March 16) due to a break in the main water line. Progress has been made by crews and a contractor specializing in flood clean-up. Further updates will be provided as work progresses.
