VolleyFest 2015 Begins Friday

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association (NLVA) will be hosting the Beresford Ltd. VolleyFest 2015 in St. John's and vicinity from Friday, October 30 to Saturday, October 31. The tournament will take place on 31 courts in St. John's and vicinity with the primary venues in the NL Sports Centre for junior high divisions and Memorial University's Field House for senior high divisions. Both venues house between five and six courts.

"What better way to celebrate Halloween than at VolleyFest? We have 21 gold medals up for grabs so we expect the competition will be intense on all 31 courts this coming Halloween weekend. This is a great time to get athletes hooked on volleyball, involved in the community, and to introduce teams to the excitement of an event this size."
- Russ Jackson, Executive Director Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association

VolleyFest 2015 organizers expect 2,300 competitors from more than 160 schools participating, including 350 coaches, 80 officials and 24 conveners.

VolleyWest, VolleyFest and VolleyCentral 2015, altogether, represent the largest school-based volleyball tournament in Canada.

VolleyWest kicked off the season's first volleyball tournament in Corner Brook on Friday, October 23 with 40 teams competing. VolleyCentral is scheduled for Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander and Lewisporte on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 and it will conclude the season's volleyball tournaments.
