Media Advisory: Minister to Participate in NL Sports Centre Announcement
The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Environment and Conservation, on behalf of the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development, will participate in a Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre announcement tomorrow (Wednesday, September 2) regarding the expansion of the Dr. Noel Browne High Performance Centre and the adjacent Powerplex.
The event will take place at the Swilers Rugby Club (Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre), 100 Crosbie Road in St. John’s, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre, which opened in 2008, is a world-class, high-performance athlete training facility. The Provincial Government has committed $250,000 to the expansion project. Budget 2015 provides over $34 million to support active, healthy living in Newfoundland and Labrador.
