Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation: Roofing Upgrades Improve Labrador Social Housing

Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation has awarded a $112,000 contract to Paulo Ventures Inc., to provide roofing upgrades on four semi-detached buildings containing eight social housing units in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

�Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation�s ongoing renovations and upgrades to existing social housing in communities throughout the province are helping to ensure there will be safe and affordable housing available for those in greatest need, both today and in the future.�

Work on the homes, located on Juniper Street and Park Drive, will include replacing existing asphalt shingles, damaged roof sheathing, eavestroughs and attic hatches. The work is expected to be completed by July 2015.

Since 2007, close to 77 per cent of Newfoundland and Labrador Housing units province-wide have received modernizations and improvements.
