NL Housing Properties in Nain Receive New Oil Tanks

Twenty-seven Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation properties in Nain have received new home fuel tanks as the result of a $170,000 contract awarded to Budgell's Equipment and Rentals Ltd.

"The installation of these modern and certified home fuel tanks has provided the tenants with safer and more comfortable homes. Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation continues its systematic work on upgrading social housing properties throughout the province."

- The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister Responsible for Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation

The existing tank systems were replaced with exterior fibreglass tank systems, which greatly reduce the risk of oil spills or leaks and further protect the environment. The project was completed in November.

In 2014-15, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation is investing $10 million to renovate 450 social housing units throughout the province.
