Enhancing Legislation and Service Delivery

Provincial Consultations Informing Review of the Lands Act

The review of the Lands Act is progressing with the launch of public consultations. From March 19 to April 7, the Department of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs will consult with key stakeholders across the province, including residents, municipalities, legal representatives and developers.

I encourage all stakeholders and interested parties to take part in these consultations. It is important that as part of the Lands Act review we capture the concerns, issues and ideas of those with an interest regarding Crown lands. This review will lead to practical and informed recommendations on how to improve the Lands Act and service delivery model to better meet the needs of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs

The consultation webpage is available at www.miga.gov.nl.ca/lands/landsreview. The page outlines the various ways interested parties can get involved and submit their feedback, including written submissions. The Terms of Reference can also be found on the webpage as well as a discussion guide.
