Media Advisory: Event Commemorating the Bicentennial of
Sir John A. Macdonald's Birth to be Held in the House of Assembly Chamber

The Honourable Wade Verge, Speaker of the House of Assembly, advises that on Thursday, April 2, The Quest for Canada, an event recognizing the 200th birthday of Sir John A. Macdonald, will take place in the House of Assembly Chamber.

The event is part of The Sir John A. Tour, a national theatre initiative exploring the life and journey of Canada's first prime minister. The project, developed by the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, P.E.I., in partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage, will travel to 12 Canadian capitals.

The Quest for Canada will include professional actors from the Confederation Centre for the Arts, local high school students, and a Member of the House of Assembly who will act as the Speaker. The aim of the event is to engage youth and highlight Sir John A's renowned oratory skills, providing them with a comprehensive view of Canada's founding father.

Media representatives wishing to cover the event will be provided access to a designated area on the floor of the Chamber and are asked to be in place by 10:00 a.m. The event is not open to the general public.
