The Honourable Steve Kent, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Community Services, will speak at the fourth annual Multiple Myeloma March on Sunday, September 20. The event will take place at the Pearlgate Track and Field Complex in Mount Pearl at 9:00 a.m.

The Multiple Myeloma March is coordinated by Myeloma Canada and the St. John's Multiple Myeloma March team. The march will be held in 11 communities across Canada this year to raise funds, improve the quality of life for patients and further advance myeloma research.

Multiple myeloma is a rare cancer of the plasma cells, which are located in the bone marrow. It affects over 7,500 Canadians and an estimated 2,300 new cases will be diagnosed in Canada this year.
