Investing in Health Care for Communities and Families

Southwest Coast Receives $150,000 Investment for Health Care Services

Health care services on Newfoundland and Labrador's southwest coast will be strengthened through a Provincial Government investment of approximately $150,000.

The Dr. Charles Legrow Health Centre in Channel-Port aux Basques will receive $122,000 for new equipment in the pharmacy, long-term care, and nutrition departments. This includes a replacement automatic medication dispensing system for the facility.

The Calder Health Centre in Burgeo will receive close to $28,000 for new equipment in the nursing, nutrition, and long-term care departments.

Budget 2015 includes a total of $133.7 million to ensure access to new and modern health care facilities and equipment for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, including $40 million for new health care equipment and $20 million for repair and renovation projects.
