Investing in Health Care to Benefit Communities and Families

Approximately $2.7 Million Provided for Health Care Services in Gander

Residents of Gander and the surrounding area will benefit from an investment of approximately $2.7 million through Budget 2015 to enhance several of the region’s health care facilities.

“Our government continues to invest and strengthen health care services in our province for the benefit of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. By providing a strong, sustainable health care system, we hope to encourage individuals to settle in communities throughout our province and to raise their families here at home – key to our Population Growth Strategy.”
- The Honourable Steve Kent, Minister of Health and Community Services

More than $2.2 million is allocated for the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre. This investment will support the purchase of new equipment, as well as various facility upgrades.

“Access to health services is one of the key factors contributing to Gander’s continued growth and its role as a regional service hub for the entire northeast coast. This investment will help ensure that we continue to offer the best possible care to area residents.”
-  Claude Elliot, Mayor, Town of Gander
