Premier Seeks Follow Through on Commitments by Prime Minister-Designate
The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today sent a letter to Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau seeking prompt action on five issues of utmost importance to the people of the province.
"I extend best wishes to Mr. Trudeau as he assumes his new role as our Prime Minister. During the federal election campaign, our government made all party leaders aware of issues of importance to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. In turn, each leader made a series of commitments to our province, and we now look to Mr. Trudeau to fulfill his commitments."

Premier Davis' letter identified five issues of immediate importance - LIFO, CETA Fishery Fund, Marine Rescue Substation, Minolas L and ferry tariffs - to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. The letter noted additional issues, which are not as time sensitive, that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is expecting the Federal Government to address in the coming months.
