Premier Recognizes Employees With 2014 Public Service Award of Excellence
The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, honoured 15 Provincial Government employees today for their outstanding work for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
�We have a strong and dynamic public service, made up of women and men who work hard every day to deliver programs and services to our residents. The individuals being honoured today represent a cross-section of these employees, and I offer my congratulations and thanks to them for their efforts across a variety of government departments and agencies.�

Five individuals and one team of 10 individuals received the award at a ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland, St. John�s.
The individual award recipients are:
- Crystal Breon, Environment and Conservation;
- Sonja Drodge, Fire and Emergency Services-Newfoundland and Labrador;
- Darrell O�Neill, Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development;
- Chris Smith, Executive Council; and
- Marion Yetman, Health and Community Services.
The team award recipients are:
- Aquatic Animal Health Division, Fisheries and Aquaculture � Dr. Amanda Borchardt, Leah Hoskins, Deirdra Johnson, Angela Laing, Dr. Nicole O�Brien, Melanie Payne, Peter Roche, Jackie Rose, Trevor Rose, Dr. Daryl Whelan

- The 2014 Public Service Award of Excellence was awarded today to 15 Government of Newfoundland and Labrador employees.
- Five individuals and one team of 10 individuals were presented with the award which honours achievements in innovation, leadership, successful relationship building, and excellence in service delivery.
- The Public Service Award of Excellence was implemented in 2001. To date, 85 individuals and 41 teams have received the award.
