Media Advisory: Premier to Tour RV Celtic Explorer

The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador will highlight Budget 2015 investments in fisheries science through the Marine Institute's Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research and tour the research vessel RV Celtic Explorer tomorrow (Tuesday, May 5) at 11:30 a.m.
 
Premier Davis will be joined by the Honourable Vaughn Granter, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture; Glenn Blackwood, Vice President, Memorial University of Newfoundland (Marine Institute); and Dr. George Rose, Director of the Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research.
 
The vessel will be docked at Pier 17 in St. John's (near the St. John's Port Authority building). Members of the media planning to attend are asked to register with Leslie Earle of the Marine Institute at 778-0677 no later than 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, and be prepared to show photo identification to port authority security to board the vessel.
 
During the event, the Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research will also release its 2010-2015 progress report.
